Abu Galum almost feels like a retreat you didn't know you needed. The mind slows down along with time, and the valley and sea invite you in to be at one with presence of self and all. I lived here for a few moments, and I witnessed how loved the camp was by many. Conscious presence is also felt with the lovely humans creating the energy here; Mostafa, Osama & Ahmed -- Not just keepers of the camp but humans who have the ability to make you feel at home. Thank you for making me feel at home. Mashallah. <3 Wide perspective conversations and funny storytelling accompanied with fire, shooting stars and endless pots of tea. The food is shared with all on one big plate, made with presence, love and of course lots of rice, always! Bless your hands. Mostafa & Osama thank you for your connection with the strings, mother drums and voice. To witness and merge with your rhythm and healing melodies took me on a personal inward journey of remembrance, presence and healing. Here music is not performance, it is shared with everyone and felt by everyone and carried by the natural rhythms of the land. I recommend this camp if you are needing to slow down with the desire to reconnect with the land, yourself and people who live with the natural rhythms. You may find you want to stay longer (like me ;)) and be a part of the Makany Makanak Family!! Love to you all & again thank you for your presence. See you soon inshallah - Maysa <3

Great experience - I arrived for 1 night and ended up staying 5. The place is gorgeous, perfect to disconnect from everyday city life, and perfect to connect with yourself and spirituality, right between the beach, the desert and the mountains. Met beautiful souls there, the place will give you the experience you need, whether its solitude or chaos. Mostafa (the host) seemed like a very connected person to me, and I guess that sets the mood for the camp.

A quiet and beautiful place. Excellent service. The food was amazing, especially considering I was in Abu Galum. It was truly wonderful, I must go back again. ❤️❤️

  • What sets this Abu Galum camp apart from its neighbours is definitely the vibe that the managers have cultivated. They are very friendly and inviting, and I particularly enjoyed the almost nightly jam sessions! You get treated to a communal and eco-conscious experience, from how food is prepped and served to how water consumption is managed. Definitely recommended!

This is far from your ordinary camping or glamping experience. From the moment you arrive, you're treated just like family. Mostafa and Osama are incredibly kind, welcoming, and make you feel like an old friend. They've poured so much heart and effort into building a sustainable, eco-friendly camp—all without sacrificing comfort or aesthetics. Getting there is a breeze, I took a direct boat ride straight from Dahab. The food is amazing, and there are multiple chill-out areas where you can relax and look out over the ocean. Plus, the camp is right next to a gorgeous reef, and they even provide snorkels you can borrow. This camp was recommended by a local Egyptian friend. The owners are incredibly kind and have fascinating stories to tell, making you feel like you're with old friends. They've poured a lot of heart and effort into building this camp in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way, without sacrificing comfort or aesthetics at all. It was also very convenient to get there; I took a direct boat ride from Dahab. The food was excellent, and there were several relaxing rest areas where you could lie down, gaze at the sea, and simply unwind. The campsite was also very close to the coral reef, and they even provided snorkeling equipment free of charge.

The location is absolutely breathtaking, surrounded by crystal-clear waters and stunning mountains, creating a peaceful and magical atmosphere. The hospitality was exceptional; the staff made us feel at home and went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. The food was delicious, fresh, and prepared with great care.
