Beach huts and camps in Bir Sweir

Golden sand, shallow water, real quiet

  • Quiet
  • Families
  • Close to the border

Bir Sweir is the first strip of beach camps heading south, about half an hour from the crossing — and probably the quietest. A handful of Bedouin camps sit along open golden sand, with no shops and no nightlife to speak of.

The water is shallow and easy to walk into, and at low tide small, calm pools form along the shore. There's a reef close enough for relaxed snorkeling, and being so near the border makes it an easy pick for a short getaway or a trip with kids.
